If you choose a hybrid powertrain which is also quite fuel efficient. However, some of the Accord’s latest technologies and features are exclusive to the Touring specification level.

The 2024 Honda Accord is an attractive and efficient family car that prides itself on all technological functions spanning ten generations. And it remains one of the best finished and most space-efficient mid-size sedans on the market. Part of the Accord’s greatness is its enduring ability to function without being dull.

2024 Honda Accord Review

Previously on the 2011 Accord model was a member of the eleventh-generation model that debuted in 2010. A hybrid powertrain is now standard on four of the six Accord trims which is a significant change for this generation. On the other hand, the 204-horsepower hybrid powertrain offers up to 44 mpg combined depending on specifications which is outstanding for a vehicle in this class.

If you don’t want a hybrid, Honda provides another solution by equipping the base variant of the Accord with a 192 hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Other highlights include a range of new technology and driver assistance features such as a 12.3-inch infotainment screen and integrated Google Assistant that acts like a smart speaker for your vehicle.

We recommend the 2024 Honda Accord to anyone in the market for a midsize sedan.

We anticipate that the Accord will remain unchanged for 2024 after a complete redesign in 2018. It is wider and longer, more contemporary and tidier than the previous Accord and true to Honda’s latest design. This is most evident on the front fascia, which features a wide grille and low focus point reminiscent of the Civic.

The muzzle incorporates most of the additional length, which sweeps across the fastback’s roofline for a sporty look; optional 19-inch alloy wheels in a black finish enhance the effect. However, appearance is not supported by performance. Comfort and efficiency were prioritized, and Honda used a revised hybrid powertrain to make up for the absence of the discontinued 252-hp turbo-4 engine.

The LX and EX models are powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 192 horsepower and drives the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission. It’s less refined than the Accord Hybrid but still tops out at 32 mpg combined.

The hybrid system combines a revised 2.0-liter inline-four with two electric motors for 204 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque. The system is smooth and easy, and its reliability on electric power contributes to a combined fuel economy rating of up to 48 mpg or 44 mpg for the 19-inch variant. The front-drive sedan with balanced handling and direct steering has excellent driving dynamics.

The new seat structure design for 2023 provides more support for the front passengers, and the second row has ample legroom. Thin pillars offer excellent outward visibility. With 16.7 cubic feet of cargo space, the Accord is among the best in its class. Even better, the Hybrid has identical cabin and trunk dimensions.

Honda anticipates that the Accord will continue to earn NHTSA’s five-star ratings and Top Safety Pick+ IIHS ratings even though crash tests have not been completed. Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitor, and active lane control, while a wide-angle camera and radar detector enhance detection.

2024 Honda Accord Specs

As we know, the Accord Sport-L, which is equipped with a hybrid drivetrain, maximizes fuel efficiency in everyday travel without sacrificing performance. In tests, Edmund’s team yielded: Our Sport-L accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 7 seconds, roughly one second faster than most competing midsize hybrid sedans and the last Accord we tested with a turbocharged base engine.

This powertrain lacks a transmission in the conventional sense, but Honda cleverly programmed it to adjust engine speed to simulate the shifting of a conventional automatic transmission. In terms of handling and steering, the Accord’s cornering grip is decent, but it lacks the inherent athleticism that earlier Accords were known for.

2024 Honda Accord Interior

We’re very comfortable with the new 20204 Accord Interior’s style, featuring a straightforward center stack and big, no-nonsense controls and knobs. An almost non-existent learning curve is exactly what we look for in a mass-market car.

With its large entry door, getting in and out of the vehicle is easy, but taller passengers entering the back seat have to keep their heads on the sloping roof. Tall rear passengers can also graze the ceiling, but the leg room in both rows is outstanding, including in the second.

The thin windshield pillars and large rear window eliminate a significant blind area from the driver’s point of view. However, if we raised the driver’s seat too high, it was difficult to see the entire instrument cluster; this can be a problem for shorter drivers.

Comfort

In this part, the 2024 Accord is very effective at preventing unwanted noise from entering the cabin. And when the vehicle is operating in electric mode, it gets even quieter. Similar to other Honda vehicles, the Accord’s driver’s seat could use a little more padding but is adjustable enough for nearly anyone to find a comfortable position behind the wheel.

Additionally, the car’s climate control system is more than adequate for heating and cooling. That said, the lack of rear seat air ventilation at certain spec levels is a significant oversight.

With 19-inch rims, the ride quality of our test vehicle was outstanding. It easily absorbed significant bumps and bruises and maintained its cool the entire time we were with it. We’d bet that the EX-L trim, with its smaller rim, is superior.

Technology

The New 2024 Honda Accord with a 12.3-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay wireless technology and Android Auto is also included with this display. Only the Touring spec level offers Google voice assistant and service integration. There seems to be no need to limit access to technological features that can improve the overall experience significantly for lower variants.

A package that adds the optional Bose audio system and Google Assistant to the Sport-L test vehicle will be a game changer.

The Honda Sensing driving aid package is fairly complete. Occasionally, the track maintenance system can get annoying, but if everything is working properly, everything should be fine. Additionally, we appreciated how easy it was to activate the adaptive cruise control with a push of a button on the steering wheel.

Storage

The 2024 Accord comes with 16.7 cubic feet of space, there’s enough room for all your stuff in the trunk. Even long items, such as golf bags, will accommodate them without difficulty. The center console area is large, with enough surface area to accommodate smaller items.

There are cupholders everywhere you look, and they can accommodate larger water vessels with tall side walls and a seat back spacious enough to accommodate many car seats, and the LATCH anchors are visible and unobstructed. The only difficulty with prospective installation is the low roofline.

2024 Honda Accord Models

We predict that there are six levels of specifications available for the 2024 Accord including LX, EX, Sport, EX-L, Sport-L, and Touring. The LX and EX are powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. This power is sent to the front axle via a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

2024 Honda Accord Engine

Possessing the most powerful and fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain in the 2024 Accord lineup, it will likely remain in the top trim. Peak combined output from the system’s 2.0-liter inline-four and two electric motors should remain at 204 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque, and only Accord Hybrids will receive Sport mode as they did for 2023. All 2024 Accords will likely continue to feature front-wheel drive.

The petrol model should continue to be equipped with a 1.5 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a CVT transmission. While the increase in output would be welcome, expect it to stick at 192 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque.

2024 Honda Accord MPG

The Accord ranges from 32 mpg coupled for the base engine model to 48 mpg coupled for the hybrid with the smaller 17-inch wheels, as estimated by the EPA. On our actual evaluation route, the Accord Sport-L, which has 19 inches larger wheels and an estimated 44 mpg combined, came in at 41.5 mpg. This is slightly lower than the EPA estimates and what we’ve seen from other midsize hybrids on the same route, but overall, it’s a pretty efficient sedan.

Safety Features

Honda Sensing’s driver assistance feature will no doubt be back. This includes systems such as automatic emergency braking, lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beam, and traffic sign recognition.

In 2024, it’s expected that some features, such as blind spot monitoring, migrate to lower trim levels. Low-Speed Braking Control can be extended to trim levels other than Touring.

2024 Honda Accord Price

We anticipate the 2024 Honda Accord to begin at approximately $27,800. As a point of reference, the 2023 lineup begins at $27,295. We’ve covered the entire Accord lineup in this article, but the LX and EX are the only gasoline-only models. The remaining vehicles are hybrid-powered. The 1.5-liter turbo-4 will likely be available in LX and EX trim levels, which will include LED headlamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, cloth seats, 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, 7.0-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and two USB-C outlets.

2024 Honda Accord Release Date

Since 1982, Marysville, Ohio has been the location. To make room for the new battery-powered vehicles, Honda is relocating production of the Accord to other factories and we believe the 2024 Accord to hit dealerships in the fall of 2023.

Verdict

The new Accord is an excellent choice for a family sedan. Spacious, functional, and easy to drive. If you opt for the hybrid powertrain, it’s also quite fuel efficient. However, some of the Accord’s latest technologies and features are exclusive to the Touring specification level. Unless you’re prepared to pay for a fully loaded model, the Accord isn’t the class leader it once was.

The 2024 deal is as of this writing. If anything changes, we’ll revise our recommendations, but based on last year’s Accord, we recommend the EX-L configuration for the majority of Accord buyers. It is the only model in the lineup that comes standard with a hybrid drivetrain and 17-inch alloy wheels that provide a more comfortable ride.
