We hope all information on this website can help you to best choose cars you needed. Happy wonderful day! This is the second year for the fifth generation of the compact CR-V crossover, a vehicle that has become almost as ubiquitous and arguably just as important in Canada as the Civic and the agreement that established Honda in North America decades ago. The CR-V is unchanged for 2018, and therefore carries with a powertrain built around a 1.5 L turbo four-cylinder engine that makes 190 hp and 179 lb-ft of torque. This power goes through a continuous variable automatic transmission to get to the front wheels in the base pad of CR-V and by AWD which is optional there and standard across the rest of the range.
Although last year’s overhaul has maintained the CR-V vertical profile of past years, the overall effect is more cohesive and lends this crossover more of a high-end appearance. Which is augmented by a high-tech interior whose Dash features a large central touch screen and an all-digital gauge display. Notable is the appropriate volume button of the info-entertainment system that last year replaced a touch control that was difficult to use when the vehicle was moving.
Honda’s small Turbo has brought a great improvement in fuel economy compared to the previous larger CR-V engine. But while the new engine is a superstar in the Civic, it feels much more ordinary in the heavier CR-V, despite boasting about 15 extra horses. The CR-V CVT also seems less sophisticated than the Civic, but part of it could be down to programming designed to extract as much output as possible.
2018 Honda CRV Specs
Fuel consumption estimates are 8.4/7.0 L/100 km (city/highway) with FWD and 8.7/7.2 in AWD fittings. The latest CR-V is a refined vehicle that holds its own face to popular competitors like the Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Tucson and Ford Escape. Honda refuses to offer a more powerful engine here, despite the fact that the Forester Ford and Subaru get the option of bigger Turbo four cylinders that turn these cars into the hot rods of the compact crossover set.
Standard technology items include the integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone, an electric parking brake and a multi-angle backup camera. Honda’s full range of active safety features (dubbed Honda detection) is standard in the LX AWD, which means you can get a collision warning with auto-braking, track start warning with support for direction, radar cruise control and road departure mitigation for less than $30 000.
2018 Honda CRV Engine
The LX base model for the 2018 Honda CR-V is powered by a 2.4-litre I-4 engine that produces 184 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque and is rated at an EPA-estimated 26/32 mpg city/highway with front traction and 25/31 mpg with all-wheel drive. CR-V ex fittings, ex-L, and touring come standard with a 190-HP, 179-lb-ft torque 1.5-litre turbo I-4 engine which provides 28/34 mpg with front wheel drive and 27/33 with ALL-wheel control. Both engines are backed up by a CVT. In the engine trend test, the 2017 Honda CR-V AWD touring hit 60 mph in a respectable 7.5 seconds and stopped from 60 mph in an impressive 115 feet.
The 2018 CR-V comes with 17-inch wheels, an automatic temperature control, a 5.0-inch LCD display with Bluetooth phone and streaming audio, a USB charging port, a multi-information driver screen, and a driver’s seat at Six-way manual adjustment. The EX model adds an opening power, fog lights, push-button start, heated front seats, and a 7.0-inch central display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The ex-L includes a 12-way power conductor seat, a four-lane passenger seat, leather padding and an auto-dimming mirror. The top touring model comes standard with 18-inch alloy rims, a hands-free power tailgate with programmable size, LED headlights with auto on/off, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel and Offset button, and a premium of 330-Watt audio system. If you’re looking for a bolder style, opt for the available side trim and 19-inch diamond-cut alloy rims.
