2022 Honda CRV: All-New 2022 Honda CR-V Redesign, Everything We Know So Far

2022 Honda CRV interestingly the compact SUV class is one of the most competitive and busiest segments in the automotive world, and it takes a lot for one crossover to rise above the others. But that’s what happened with the Honda CR-V.

At a minimum, a compact crossover must offer a large enough cargo area and a comfortable interior. The Honda CRV 2022 fulfills these requirements, with more storage than almost all vehicles in its class and a ride that is so smooth that you swear you are driving a luxury SUV.

The seats are equally luxurious, and there is enough passenger space so that four adults as tall as 6 feet will have no problems on long trips. It has a few errors, although we found that the fresh engine was a bit thirsty than expected in real-world driving.

CR-V does not want competition, but only a few competitors pose a serious threat. Mazda CX-5 has a very high rating.

And while the rear seat and cargo area aren’t as a commodity as the CR-V, Mazda is impressive with a stylish exterior, thrilling driving dynamics, and a very powerful turbocharged engine.

In terms of space, the Hyundai Tucson divides the difference, with a tight cargo area but wide rear seats.

The recently redesigned Subaru Forester is another practical and solid bet.

2022 Honda CRV News

Discussing the little information we obtained from trusted online sites, the new ZR-V Model is also expected to make its way to the European market, although at this time, there is no specific time available.

And while the successor to the launch of the 2022 Honda CR V in the coming years is something that everyone can see coming, no one knows exactly what ZR-V will eventually see, especially since at this time, all information comes through unofficial channels.

But a pair of rendering published by automotive artist Kleber Silva on Behance envisions this new Honda ZR-V, and from the looks of it, two parts are quite reasonable and also details that you don’t expect.

Rendering, which shows the Honda ZR-V can land for the 2022 model year, points to a typical Honda front fascia but with a surprising “secret”: the car is based on the Changan Uni-T China, and the rear is the clearest indication in this regard.

Honda’s model based on Chinese cars might not be the best news for everyone, but on the other hand, it’s also no secret that the Changan Uni-T looks pretty good.

If anything, it is one of the best-looking Chinese cars today, so a potential Honda ZR-V that will adopt style doesn’t have to be the end of the world.

Needless to say, it is important to remind all of this only the rendering and there is still no confirmation that that is the way the Honda ZR-V should look.

To be honest, we don’t think too many people will hate the ZR-V if this is the design that Honda plans for the successor to the CR-V.

2022 Honda CRV Rumors

Entering the model’s sixth year since it went on sale, the Honda CR-V 2022 is expected to arrive unchanged. Despite being a carryover model, the CR-V 2022 will still continue to be the leader in its segment, offering a strong mix of advantages that few competitors can match.

2022 honda crv

Honda unveiled a completely redesigned 2017 CR-V with a sharper and more modern design, but this compact SUV is getting a bit of a refresher in 2020.

Unmistakably, Honda, the CR-V 2022 will share many of the same design elements as today’s SUVs. this.

The SUV will use a two-tier grille, chrome elements that connect the headlights to the grille, and a wide air intake at the bottom of the fascia.

The protruding body line that starts at the front fascia and connects with the rear end helps break up the CR-V’s fine lines. At the rear, the CR-V will have high L-shaped taillights, chrome elements just below the rear windshield, and two exhaust holes.

Inside, most of that will remain the same for the CR-V 2022. The SUV will continue to feature a classy and user-friendly design. The unique placement of the gear shift in the center console gives the cabin a V-shaped design.

Honda will continue to have well-labeled buttons and dials for controlling the HVAC and infotainment system, while the spacious interior will also carry over to the 2022 model year.

In terms of technology, the features are expected to stay the same for 2022. A 5-inch screen, Bluetooth, USB port, and a four-speaker audio system are expected to become standard.

Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, 7-inch touch screen, nine audio speakers, wireless smartphone charging, and navigation will still be optional.

2022 Honda CRV Changes

Honda will continue to offer a single powertrain with the CR-V for the 2022 model year. Power will come from a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet of torque.

The engine is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission and directs power to the front wheels as standard. All-wheel drive will be available as an option.

The CR-V currently comes with the Honda Sensing product range as standard equipment. We hope the list of standard and optional features remains the same for future models.

Front collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and lane maintenance assistance are standard on today’s CR-V. IIHS is not testing the CR-V at this time. In NHTSA testing, the CR-V 2021 received a five-star overall safety rating.

2022 Honda CRV Hybrid

Like the regular CR-V, the CR-V Hybrid features a spacious interior, plenty of storage space, and a smooth ride. In addition, it has a special hybrid powertrain that provides greater fuel efficiency than the normal CR-V.

The EPA estimates you will get 38 mpg in combined city / highway driving. That’s one of the highest estimates you’ll find for a small SUV and 9 mpg better than the CR-V’s only comparable four-wheel drive gasoline.

Unfortunately, the CR-V Hybrid underperformed in our real-world fuel economy tests; Read our Expert Rating to learn more about our testing experience.

After last year’s redesign, the CR-V Hybrid returns in 2021 without the basic LX trim, but the opposite is the same.

As a result, it maintains an advantageous position among small hybrid SUVs including the Ford Escape Hybrid, Hyundai Santa Fe, Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, and the revamped Toyota Venza.

Overview

The hybrid version of Honda’s top-rated compact SUV offers everything we love about its fuel-only sibling, plus excellent efficiency.

This is Honda’s only hybrid SUV but in terms of size, it is positioned between the smaller HR-V and the mid-sized Passport and Pilot.

The CR-V’s strongest competition comes in the form of the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and the Ford Escape Hybrid.

If you know how much we love the standard CR-V, it’s no surprise how much we appreciate its hybrid sibling.

The CR-V Hybrid shares a genius package, an excellent balance between a smooth ride and sporty handling, and the strong value of a fuel-only engine while boosting the model’s already impressive efficiency figures.

Compromised cargo capacity is disappointing, as is Honda’s slow and aging infotainment system. Plus, although the CR-V Hybrid sucks up much less fuel than a standard car, it is not as efficient in EPA or MotorTrend testing as the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.

In a recent comparison test between the two, Toyota was the more attractive choice at a lower trim level but comparing the top-spec variants, Honda came out on top thanks to its careful design, smart storage solutions, and balanced dynamics.

Performance and Fuel Savings

Contrary to the standard turbocharged CR-V, the hybrid model uses a naturally aspirated four-cylinder coupled with an electric starter generator and an electric motor.

The CVT car is the only transmission offered, and all CR-V Hybrids are AWD. The total system horsepower amounts to 212 hp.

At 40/35 mpg city/highway, Honda was following the 41/38 mpg Toyota RAV4 Hybrid; a car that also beat the CR-V to 60 (7.5 vs 7.1 seconds) by 0.4 seconds.

Cargo Space and Interior Space

Efficiency aside, cargo volume is perhaps the biggest differentiator between the CR-V Hybrid and the standard CR-V.

That battery and motor have to fit somewhere, right? Capacity rated at 33.2 / 68.7 cubic feet behind the rear / with the seats folded, compared to 39.2 / 75.8 cubic feet in a gas car.

Even so, this hybrid car offers the same front and rear legroom for five passengers as a gasoline-fueled airplane. That translates to 41.3 inches at the front and 40.4 inches for those seated at the back.

Technology

The CR-V infotainment is a weak point, especially if you’re using the entry-level model’s 5.0-inch base system. Choose EX trim or higher for a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment setting with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Honda CR-V Hybrid Model

The CR-V Hybrid 2021 is offered in three trim levels: EX, EX-L and Touring. The 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine mated to a hybrid system is combined to produce 212 horsepower.

All three trims come standard with all wheel drive. Feature highlights include:

EX

The entry-level EX trim is well equipped with:

  • LED headlights
  • Keyless and entry ignition
  • Remote engine start
  • Heated side mirrors
  • Heated front seat
  • Power adjustable driver seat with memory adjustment
  • 7 inch touch screen display
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility
  • Four USB ports
  • Dual zone automatic climate control
  • Eight speaker audio system
  • Each CR-V Hybrid is also equipped with a collection of advanced driver safety tools which include:
  • Adaptive cruise control (adjusts speed to maintain a constant distance between the CR-V Hybrid and the car in front)
  • Forward collision warning with automatic braking (warns you of upcoming collisions and applies brakes in certain scenarios)
  • Lane maintenance system (makes minor steering corrections to help keep the CR-V Hybrid centered on track)
  • Blind spot monitor (alerts you if a vehicle on the next lane is in your blind spot)

EX-L

Apart from the EX feature, the EX-L adds several features which include:

  • Heated steering wheel
  • Ambient interior lighting
  • Leather upholstery
  • Power adjustable passenger seat
  • Power liftgate
  • Touring

The range-topping Touring model completes the lineup with additional comfort features such as:

  • Unique LED headlamps
  • 19-inch wheels
  • Integrated navigation system
  • Wireless smartphone charging
  • Nine speaker premium audio system
  • Front and rear parking sensors
  • Roof rails
  • Liftgate hands-free

2022 Honda CRV Redesign

As far as we can see, this redesign will be completely redesigned to be more modern. From the appearance we see changes occur on several sides such as using a two-level grille with chrome elements that connect the headlights.

And on the backside of the CRV 2022 Redesign is equipped with an L-shaped lamp design. All this is done to add luxury value to the 2022 CRV.

Looking at changes from various sides of the Honda CRV 2022 Redesign car directly from the overall changes that must be made by the Honda CR-V in 2020, the forward-brought 2022 Honda CR-V looks sharp from any angle that you think is suitable and of course, has the intelligence to support it too.

Since spy shots for the 2022 CRV Redesign have appeared, the world’s best-selling Honda CRV Redesign 2022 SUV has been the subject of conversation in the city even though no one knows a bit about what the crossover will pack.

Assumptions made wildly like fresh popcorn about the highly anticipated addition to the 2021 ranks of the Automotive market.

The Honda CR-V has always been the go-to vehicle for consumers who are looking for something certain in the compact-SUV segment. The 2021 model will still be part of the latest generation that was unveiled in 2017.

So don’t expect the most important changes in version 2021, because it will be done the same way as its predecessor.

If the report can be trusted, it will be a complete part of the kit, without major changes.

Honda will go with the same bodywork and platform from the CRV 2022 redesign model, which is currently based on the basics of the Honda Civic.

Although in retrospect with the current phase of the world crossover, it might not be surprising to many, if Honda comes with a 7-seat model for the CR-V. This also could happen to the 2022 Honda CR V, let’s look forward to the latest information.

2022 Honda CRV Touring AWD

Honda doesn’t believe in bringing about a whirlwind of changes to trim levels or prices even as generational changes occur.

Staying true to its humble roots of being thrifty in building cars and offering them to customers, the CR-V will be offered in the same 4 trim levels, LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring.

Pricing will only see small increases across the trim lineup from between $ 700 to $ 1,200 overall and will start at $ 26,700 for the LX trim with FWD and go up to $ 36,100 for the Touring trim with AWD.

The experience of taking the CR-V is never completely complete without customization. To enhance the deal and allow you to spend more, the brand will offer a plethora of options, including a speculated adaptive suspension that will come in handy when you want to go off-road.

The Honda CR-V serves as one of the early options in the brand’s crossover lineup and therefore does not tie in to overly large engine units.

On that note, the 1.5L turbocharged inline-4 unit will continue to make generational changes. This unit is very good and makes 190 hp and 179 lb-ft of torque.

Connected with CVT, this is the classic daily driver for those who want feature-rich value that doesn’t make sense for money travel.

But for those wanting something more, the 2.0L turbocharged unit will also find its home under the hood with a generational change.

This machine will be honed to produce 212 ponies and the torque figure is still unknown. It will also come with a CVT but one of the biggest changes to expect is that FWD is discontinued and AWD is full time.

With so many exciting changes in store, it gets even more exciting to expect with the Honda CR-V 2022.

2022 Honda CRV Touring

The Honda CR-V 2021 comes in four trims: LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring. All models come standard with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive.

All-wheel drive is optional in each $ 1,500 trim. We reviewed the hybrid version of the CR-V separately.

The base model comes with a good number of active safety features, but we recommend upgrading at least one rung to the EX trim, which gives you a touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone integration, blind spot monitoring, heated front seats, and a moonroof.

To get leather upholstery, you’ll need to get EX-L trim or above. Some features, such as navigation, are limited to the top Tour models.

Front and rear parking sensors are optional on each trim.

The CR-V Touring with the topping range sells for $ 33,650. The trim features a hands-free liftgate, wireless charging device, heated steering wheel, satellite-linked navigation, nine-speaker premium stereo, rain-sensing windshield wipers, LED headlamps and interior ambient lighting.

2022 Honda CRV Exterior

Seeing that last year the Honda CRV 2022 might have the same exterior silhouette as the Honda CR-V 2020. What about the 2022 Honda CR-V?

It comes with standard LED headlights and taillights which are the first in this segment because it is optional for other cars.

One thing we hope for is a change in the dimensions of the car, with the addition of a third row. If true, it’s probably the cheapest three-line crossover on the market.

At a minimum, if the report is believed, 2022 will also have the same new front bumper, updated grille, updated headlights, and an 18 “-alloy update from the newly refreshed CR-V 2021.

Now at the end of the day, we don’t think the CR-V needs outside refreshment, because of its aggressive and muscular features but it looks young.

You have lots of chrome accents applied around the car. All in all, it is sure to reach your eyes while on the road.

The back of the SUV is where you first set your eyes, and you can immediately see the style of the back which is flat and tight, unlike the prominent structure that all other competitors have.

Compare Honda CRV 2022 with the most suitable rivals, and you will find the word compact more than matches the name.

The Subaru Forester’s naturally-inspiring engine and extra bulk compared to others affect the release of parts of the track and make it difficult to join to highway speeds.

2022 Honda CRV Interior

Looking at the inside of the CRV which this time presents a classy, luxurious, and user-friendly feel. Starting from shifting gears from the center console position to make the V-shaped CRV cabin. CRV 2022 Redesign also continues to innovate in providing convenience in controlling the HVAC from the infotainment system.

Interior packaging has never been compatible with Honda, or that’s what Honda wants you to believe until now.

We might even dare to say that Honda has misled you about this idea because years of planning have finally paid off with the Honda CR-V 2020, which packs one of the neatest interior packages in this segment ever.

As good as anything will happen outside, just as smooth inside. Now the same thing will be done for the 2022 model too.

Coming to the center console and the infotainment section, the dashboard will be wrapped in soft-touch material, with fine wood trim and chrome accents that describe the dashboard as you climb the trim steps.

Infotainment-wise, the same 7.0-inch touch screen system will be carried forward, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto now standard.

There are also premium audio settings that allow you to be a DJ from your own driving experience.

2022 Honda CR V wide area. Just like the Honda tent factor, the CR-V packs a lot of space for 5 people and is also equipped with several facilities that make you much more comfortable such as heated leather seats and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel which is the standard from 2021.

We hope the same luxurious and comfortable seats will be carried forward to 2021, albeit with serious upgrades in the form of a third row.

Cargo space is best suited to help maximize the experience of each adventure. With 39.2 cu.ft, the 2022 CR-V stands out as having the largest cargo space.

Although the exterior dimensions might make it look small and compact on paper, we assure you that is not the case, when you enter the CR-V.

In terms of competition, Subaru Forester made a broader interior agreement, because the space provided has been utilized perfectly, and it certainly makes breadcrumbs to be followed by other manufacturers.

2022 Honda CRV Engine

On the engine side in terms of performance, it would be better if you did not expect big changes because, after eroding the 2.4L engine and using a straight 1.5L Turbocharged unit that produces 190hp torque and 179 lb-ft of torque, from that year.

2022 Honda will not equip the 2021 model with a different power train. One major change to be expected is that the AWD option is the standard from now on, which was optional before.

Honda will continue its excellent CVT to 2021 without control. Don’t forget that this is a crossover, so the acceleration is the slowest, and that the CR-V won’t be excited enough to go up to highway speed, even with turbocharged settings.

The CR-V was never destined to do the traditional things that other SUVs do, such as going out.

It was meant to be driven on city limits, with softer suspension arrangements to swallow road imperfections.

Now for drivers who demand greater performance skills supported by nimble handling, a hybrid powertrain is also available, which produces 212 pones from a 2.0L engine and two electric motors.

2022 Honda CRV MPG

The 1.5L turbocharged 2022 Honda CR-V unit is expected to produce 27 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the freeway. This reliable Honda is often at the peak of efficiency, most often than not.

Well, why not? However, the CR-V always has some of the best MPG numbers in this segment, which continues to increase every year.

To help save gas, the 2022 Honda CR V comes with an idle-stop and ECON button, which makes it more environmentally friendly than before.

Also, if that is not enough for you, the hybrid version will become the standard from now on, which was recently revealed for 2021. Honda is seriously making steps in the field of fuel savings.

This is known as one of the most economical segments in the Automotive industry. When it comes to competition, while talking about MPG figures, Subaru is the most efficient we believe, although short of 1 MPG to segment leaders, it accommodates the largest fuel tank, which leads to lower fuel.

Stop along the way, and lead to a much better deal at any point in time.

2022 CRV Price and Release Date

With almost no new changes expected lately, the price of the 2022 CR-V is still active to roam around the price bracket from $ 25,050 to $ 34,750. It should not differ much.

Although it doesn’t need to be said, even though Honda raised the price a little, it was still a friendly steal.

When it came to the CR-V release date, decoding the previous trend, Honda might unveil its golden swan somewhere around the fall of 2021.

For people who want to lay their hands on something new from the Honda cage, we hate to bring it to you, you will be quite disappointed in that way.

As far as changes must be considered, they are speculations and assumptions of the game at the moment.

Although one thing we are quite sure of is the fact that it might offer a third-row seat, which raises the price increase a little.

Also, if you want a Honda that can be reliably massively in your garage, we recommend that you use the Honda CR-V 2022, instead of waiting until the fall of 2021.

Verdict

After a recent refresh, this generation is as good as it will get and most of the clutter has been resolved.

The only thing that stands out for the 2022 CRV is the infotainment system which becomes clearer when you look at what Hyundai and Kia have to offer as standard.

So, the CR-V has all the qualities you want from the best compact SUV – fuel efficiency, versatility, and lots of the latest technologies.
