Just when we thought that all family-oriented conveniences had been plugged into the world of minivans, Honda has delivered a new minivan with all imaginable features, with a great rival in mind.
With the redesigned Odyssey, Honda translated his civic-on-steroids style into his quest to topple the brand-new newcomer’s minivan-the Chrysler Pacifica, who named our 2017 best car to buy. The greatest climax of the Odyssey can be a camera that allows the driver to see the passengers in the second and third rows without the distraction of having to look back, but the Odyssey is positively filled with new features.
We give the 2018 Honda Odyssey a 8.0 of 10. It offers a great space, features to rival the Chrysler Pacifica, comfortable seating for up to eight, and the dynamic and power that the top of the segment. Other new features include second-row sliding seats with a removable middle section and external seats that slide forward and backward and side-to-side. They are also new 4 G LTE Wi-Fi HotSpot capability that can power the rear entertainment system, a wireless charging pad for smartphones, Apple’s and Android auto, and an application that allows passengers to set the temperature Back and send songs to the radio. That is besides the accumulation of vacuum in van that comes in the first two models.

From the side, the Odyssey retains the chromed belt line of the previous model “Lightning Flash”, but it is attenuated. However, this van saw things a little bit with a deep swoop carved into its front hinge and rear sliding doors. Honda moved slide-side-door channels to the bottom of the third row window glass to hide them better. The rear end echoes the chrome bar theme of the front and includes standard LED taillights.
Inside, Honda added more soft-touch materials to give the Odyssey a more expensive look. It is built around a cluster of digital instruments and a large central screen. A huge central console has deep storage and a large flat area to put wallets and the like in front of it. It’s not beautiful, but it’s useful.

Honda offers a lot of luxury features, too, including heated and refrigerated seats, a heated steering wheel, a hand-free tailgate, ambient lighting, and an 11-speaker sound system. Honda has made changes to the performance to improve the way in which the odyssey of the readers. The new structure is more rigid, the steering is more rapid, and there are new 9 and 10 speed automatic transmissions. Under the hood is a new 3.5-liter V-6 which produces 280 hp, 32 more than last year. The fuel economy improves, making the odyssey the most efficient minivan in the class, apart from the hybrid Chrysler Pacifica plug-in. It also made more effort to block the noise in the cabin.
On the security front, the new Odyssey adds features such as automatic emergency braking and forward collision warnings, blind spot monitors, active lane control and adaptive cruise control. All but the base model get all these features, but all models get knee airbags for the driver and front passenger. The scores of the crash tests are almost perfect. Minivans are not known for their power delivery or steering prowess, but the odyssey stands out as the best-driving minivan on the market. Changes for 2018 contribute to improvements on multiple fronts. The 2018 Honda Odyssey obtains a new structure that has 44 percent more torsional stiffness. The platform is related to the Honda Pilot and Acura MDX, and contributes to a weight loss of up to 75 pounds against the outgoing model. A new steering system has a faster steering ratio, and a new rear suspension has a rear stabilizer bar for the first time.
